Migrate from WooCommerce to Shopify or Medusa
Slow checkout, a plugin update that breaks the cart, a host you have to babysit. We move your store to Shopify or Medusa with products, customers and order history intact, every URL redirected, and a storefront built around your brand.
Signs you have outgrown WooCommerce
WooCommerce is a flexible way to start selling. These are the moments store owners tell us it stopped fitting.
The store slows down as it grows
More products, more orders and more plugins make the admin, the cart and the checkout slower, and every fix is another caching layer or a bigger server.
Every update is a risk
WordPress, WooCommerce, the theme and twenty plugins all update on their own schedule. One of them breaks the checkout, and you find out from a customer.
You run the servers yourself
Hosting, backups, security patches and traffic spikes on sale days are your problem, or your developer’s, on top of running the business.
Plugins pile up into a bill
Subscriptions, bundles, shipping rules, product add-ons and filters each come from a paid plugin with its own licence to renew.
Custom logic fights the platform
Wholesale pricing, configurators or multi-warehouse stock end up as hooks and patches on top of WordPress that nobody wants to touch.
What happens to your WooCommerce plugins
Pick what your store runs today. Each plugin becomes a feature of the new platform, a single app, or turns out not to be needed.
- WooCommerce Payments / StripeShopify Payments or StripeCard payments, wallets and local methods run through the platform’s checkout. Your Stripe account can stay if you move to Medusa.
- WooCommerce SubscriptionsSubscriptions, scoped separatelyA subscription app on Shopify or a subscription module on Medusa. Moving active subscriptions needs your payment provider’s help with saved cards, so we plan it first.
- Product Add-Ons / variationsVariants and optionsSizes, colours and custom options become product variants and options, mapped by script with their SKUs, prices and stock.
- Yoast / Rank MathSEO fields in the editorTitles, descriptions and Open Graph images move with each product and page, and structured data is generated for every product.
- Product reviewsReviews imported to the new storeReviews and star ratings move into a reviews app on Shopify or into Medusa, so product pages keep their social proof.
- Table Rate ShippingShipping rules in the platformZones, rates and free-shipping thresholds are set up natively, with a carrier service if you need live rates.
- WPML / PolylangBuilt-in markets and languagesShopify Markets or Medusa regions handle currencies, languages and their own URLs with hreflang.
- Mailchimp / KlaviyoThe same tool, connected againYour email platform connects to the new store, with customers and purchase history synced so flows keep running.
- Elementor / page builderContent blocks in SanityLanding pages, lookbooks and the blog move to Sanity, where editors build pages from on-brand blocks next to your products.
What changes when you leave WooCommerce
Shopify suits stores that want less to run. Medusa suits custom pricing, complex logic or no platform fees. Both can sit behind a Sanity-powered storefront; we recommend one after the audit.

How we move a WooCommerce store
Your store keeps selling until the new one is ready. On launch day we sync the last orders and switch the domain.
Audit
Audit
We list every product type, plugin, payment and shipping rule, crawl every URL and export your rankings, so nothing is lost by accident.
Platform and plan
Platform and plan
Shopify or Medusa, with a written scope and a launch date. Subscriptions, B2B pricing and integrations are planned up front.
Data migration
Data migration
Products, variants, categories, customers, orders, coupons and reviews move by script. We run it on a copy and check the numbers match.
Storefront
Storefront
Your design rebuilt as a theme or a headless storefront, with editorial pages in Sanity and checkout on the new platform.
Redirects and launch
Redirects and launch
Every product, category and page URL gets a permanent redirect. We sync orders placed during the build, then switch the domain.
Handover
Handover
Your team gets a walkthrough of the new admin and editor. Then the WordPress hosting can be cancelled.
Questions about leaving WooCommerce
Not if the move is planned. Shopify uses fixed /products/ and /collections/ paths, so every old product and category URL gets a permanent redirect, and titles, descriptions and structured data are carried over. On Medusa we can usually keep your URLs exactly as they are.
Customer accounts, addresses and order history move across. Shopify cannot import passwords, so customers either get an invite to set a new one or sign in with a one-time email code. On Medusa we can scope a login that accepts old passwords.
Yes. Past orders move with their line items, totals and customers, so your team and your customers can still see them. Orders placed while we build are synced again on launch day.
Shopify if you want the platform to handle hosting, checkout and updates. Medusa if you need custom pricing, unusual product logic or want to avoid platform fees, and are happy to own a little more. The audit gives you a plain recommendation.
Subscribers and their plans move across, but saved cards stay with your payment provider. We plan the transfer with them before launch so renewals keep going through.
No. The WooCommerce store keeps selling until launch day, when we sync the latest orders and switch the domain.
It depends on the number of products, plugins and integrations. After the audit you get a fixed scope and timeline.
