Migrate from Magento to Shopify or Medusa
Magento 2.4.6 left regular support in August 2026 and 2.4.7 follows in May 2027. Instead of another costly upgrade, we move your store to Shopify Plus or Medusa with the catalogue, customers and order history intact and every URL redirected.
Signs it is time to leave Magento
Magento can do almost anything, at a price. These are the moments merchants tell us that price stopped making sense.
Your version is running out of support
Each 2.4 release line gets about three years of regular support. When yours ends, the choice is a major upgrade project or a store without security patches.
Upgrades cost as much as features
Every version jump means updating extensions, fixing the theme and retesting checkout. The budget goes into standing still.
Few developers, high rates
Good Magento developers are scarce and expensive, and the store depends on the one agency that knows its custom modules.
Hosting is a project of its own
Elasticsearch or OpenSearch, Redis, Varnish and a tuned server stack, all of it patched and scaled by you before every sale.
Editing content is painful
Landing pages and campaigns go through Page Builder or a developer ticket, so marketing waits on engineering for every launch.
What happens to your Magento extensions
Pick what your store runs today. Each extension becomes a feature of the new platform, a single app, or turns out not to be needed.
- Configurable productsVariants and optionsConfigurable and simple products become products with variants, mapped by script with their SKUs, prices, images and stock.
- Bundles and grouped productsBundles, scoped per catalogueShopify bundles or a bundle app, or a bundle module on Medusa. We map each product type during the audit.
- Customer groups and tier pricesB2B pricingShopify’s B2B catalogues, or price lists and customer groups in Medusa.
- Multi-store and store viewsMarkets and regionsShopify Markets or Medusa regions handle countries, currencies and languages, each with its own URLs and hreflang.
- Layered navigation / searchSearch and filtersNative filtering, or a search service such as Algolia, without running Elasticsearch yourself.
- Page Builder contentContent blocks in SanityCMS pages, banners and campaign pages move to Sanity, where marketing builds pages from on-brand blocks.
- ERP and PIM connectorsIntegrations, rebuilt by APIStock, order and product feeds connect to the new platform’s API. We list each one and its replacement in the audit.
- URL rewritesRedirects in the new storeEvery rewrite and .html URL is mapped to its new address with a permanent redirect.
What changes when you leave Magento
Shopify Plus suits teams that want to stop running infrastructure. Medusa suits complex B2B, custom logic and teams who want open source without the weight. Both can sit behind a Sanity-powered storefront.

How we move a Magento store
Your Magento store keeps selling until the new one is ready. On launch day we sync the last orders and switch the domain.
Audit
Audit
We list every product type, extension, store view and integration, crawl every URL and export your rankings, so nothing is lost by accident.
Platform and plan
Platform and plan
Shopify Plus or Medusa, with a written scope and a launch date. B2B pricing, ERP feeds and multi-store setups are planned up front.
Data migration
Data migration
Products, attributes, categories, customers, orders and reviews move by script. We run it on a copy and check the numbers match.
Storefront
Storefront
Your design rebuilt as a theme or a headless storefront, with editorial pages in Sanity and checkout on the new platform.
Redirects and launch
Redirects and launch
Every product, category and CMS URL gets a permanent redirect. We sync orders placed during the build, then switch the domain.

Your team gets a walkthrough of the new admin and editor. Then the Magento servers can be shut down.
Questions about leaving Magento
Adobe gives each 2.4 release about three years of regular support. 2.4.6 ended in August 2026, 2.4.7 ends on 31 May 2027 and 2.4.8 on 31 May 2028. Adobe Commerce licences can add extended support on some versions; Magento 1 has had none since 2020.
Not if the move is planned. Magento’s .html URLs and nested categories are mapped one by one to their new addresses with permanent redirects, and titles, descriptions and structured data are carried over. On Medusa we can usually keep your URLs as they are.
Customer accounts, addresses and order history move across. Shopify cannot import passwords, so customers either get an invite to set a new one or sign in with a one-time email code. On Medusa we can scope a login that accepts old passwords.
Shopify Plus if you want the platform to handle hosting, checkout and upgrades. Medusa if you rely on complex B2B rules or custom logic and want to own the code without Magento’s weight. The audit gives you a plain recommendation.
Each one is listed in the audit with how it connects to the new platform, usually through its API or an existing connector. Nothing is switched off until its replacement is tested.
No. Magento keeps selling until launch day, when we sync the latest orders and switch the domain.
It depends on the catalogue, store views and integrations. After the audit you get a fixed scope and timeline.
